Pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code section 3313.482, the board of education of Meigs Local Schools hereby authorizes the following plan(board policy 8210) to allow students of the district to access and complete classroom lessons in order to fulfill up to a maximum number of hours that are the equivalent of three school days because of the closings of schools for any of the reasons specified in sections 3313.482. This plan will go in effect for Day 6, 7, and 8 calamity day and will represent Blizzard Bags 1, 2, and 3 in the corresponding files uploaded to our district website. The calamity day plan (blizzard bag) will be made available for students to access online or as a paper copy (blizzard bag) lesson. If the teacher is utilizing a paper lesson(Intermediate and Primary School), it will be sent home as soon school resumes. All of the assignments will be posted on our district webpage. Students will be granted two weeks from the date of reopening to complete the posted lessons. We will provide access to computers in our buildings before, during or after school in order for the students to complete the assignment. Students that were given paper copies (blizzard bags) will also have two weeks to complete the lesson from the date of reopening.
